I always see red bellied woodpeckers up in the trees at the zoo.
Everyone loves the little meerkat “clowns”.
The marabou stork is back on the nest. Last spring she had 2 babies. She doesn’t look too happy about having to sit there for weeks.

“There’s a piece straw hanging in front of my eye. Maybe I can reach it with my tongue” says the giraffe.

Injured manatees recouping at the zoo manatee hospital.
He seemed so serious in the first picture so I asked him to smile.
A few funny things at Lowry Park zoo.
I dunno, Dina, you seem to have outdone yourself here somehow. The “serious” and “smiling” photos made me laugh and laugh. And I needed a good laugh about now. I have a headache and my computer is acting up. (The two are probably related.)
Thanks for this post!

Wonderful close up photos of all the animals! The meerkats are so amusing–stars of the show, but the baboons are fascinating
Some real gems there. I don’t know what it is about the meerkats but they always bring a smile to the face.
Delightful photos of somewhat funny animals. Specially the meerkats and manatees are great. And the giraffe is a clown.
Fantastic photos, all so sharp and clear. The last shot of the Mandrill’s expression was amazing.
Great photos! I must say, though, that stork isn’t exactly a thing of beauty!
