There were a few migrating birds at Chesnut Park in late October. I saw a lot of black and white warblers.
White eyed vireos hang around all winter.
A lone pine warbler was busy feeding in the moss.
A female magnolia warbler is not very common here.

Little birds at the boardwalk.
I’m thinking this is a pine warbler. Fairly common but confusing. Looks like a lot of other female yellow birds.
A very common but pretty white-eyed vireo.
I think this is an immature pine warbler in the 2 above.
Blue headed vireos are becoming common this time of year.
This little chickadee was being too cute. He came down close to the boardwalk looking to see if I had a handout. All of the above were taken at Chesnut Park on a Saturday morning in early January. Someone had left seed on the boardwalk before I had gotten there and the birds were very active.
On the way home I stopped by another park to see if the owls were nesting again this year. She was up in the nest still on eggs, taking a nap. This couple gets a little later start than most owls in the area.

I was trying to get some shots of the deer on the baseball field, She looked at me for a second and then took off to join her friends who were heading into the woods. Oh wait, that’s why they call them “white-tailed deer”.

Lots of squirrels but that bottom looks a little rough.
Lots of little birds but nothing new.
Red shoulder hawks hiding along the trails.
Eagles flying far away across the lake. Both an adult and a juvenile.
Found these two ducks at a quiet end of a pond. I’m thinking they are pets that got dumped here. Someone left food in a small plastic container. I just hope they know enough to stay away from the gators.
They all look alike
This one looks like a female common yellowthroat. Although, it also looks like a female hooded warbler.
The above two looks more like a female hooded warbler.
Possible pine warbler.
Or these could be a pine warbler.
This is an easy one. A yellow throated warbler.
A palm warbler.
All of these little yellow guys look alike. Especially the females. Pine, Palm, Prairie or Polka Dots??? I can’t keep them straight. Next spring I’m going to take the time to write down what they are as I am taking pictures if someone there knows. Sometimes I have different people telling me the same bird is something different so that’s even more confusing. These were all taken in mid-November at Chesnut Park. It was a busy day for little yellow birds.
Common and uncommon birds at Chesnut Park
Above are some of the common birds you see in the winter here. An Eastern phoebe, a catbird, a black and white warbler and a blue-gray gnatcatcher.
Another common year round bird, the pileated woodpecker. Most of the time I usually hear them screaming from high up in the trees. This one came down a little closer.
A house wren is not that common.
Yellow throated warblers are common in the winter but they tend to hide up in the palm trees and under the palms.
I think these are all pine warblers.
Not a common bird for me to see, a black capped chickadee. There were several high up in the trees near the boardwalk.
A very strange but not uncommon bird flying over the lake.
