We headed over to the beach for a sunset walk on Christmas night. Clearwater beach was so packed that we didn’t stay long. We drove past the beach after a walk on Sand Key beach and then stopped along the causeway to take some pictures before heading home.

Every Thanksgiving weekend, my cousin and his family are in the Tampa Bay Water Ski Christmas show. It’s a free show that is in a lake near my house. It was a very warm weekend this year. 80 degrees in the afternoon although I’m sure the water felt cold. There was a huge crowd of people there. It always feels like the holidays are near when you see people water skiing in central Florida! My cousin? He’s the one in the Santa suit.
Just for fun! I found some old (late 60’s) pictures of me with Santa that my Dad had taken. I don’t know where the first one was but the last three were at my Mom’s work Christmas party. I don’t remember being scared of Santa but I do look a little apprehensive in that first picture. I was probably looking over at Mom.

This is NOT my house. I don’t even take the time anymore to put a tree. So I go to other people’s houses to see them. These were all taken last year inside Pinewood Estate at Bok Tower Gardens in central Florida. The 20 room home was built in the 30’s and is now a museum. During the holidays, volunteers decorate in historic Christmas fashion. It’s a fun way to put you in the mood without having to do the work yourself.

On a beautiful morning in mid-December after spending an hour walking around the Botanical Gardens in Largo, I headed over to Heritage Village next door. I had not been in over a year and wanted to see if they decorated the old houses for Christmas. Not too many decorations but since it’s free to walk around I couldn’t complain. Heritage Village is a 21 acre living history museum. Walking around the trail, you can see 28 historic buildings dating back to the 19th century. Lots of things to see there.
