I knew it was going to be a good morning when I walked out on the trail at Circle B Bar Reserve at 8am and this was the view.
I had not been out here since May so it was great to get out and walk around without it being terribly hot.
The trails were quiet except for the birds making noise. The limpkins and phoebes were loud. It felt like a lot more moss had grown on trees.
A very large bee hive right on the trail.
I only had my 300mm lens with me so all of these were taken with my Iphone. That bee hive was so close that I would have only gotten an inch of it with my longer lens. I’m looking forward to lots of long walks here this winter.
I am resigned to another Canadian winter, so appreciate the vicarious walks with you at some of my favourite haunts, Circle B Bar being one of them. My best memory is of watching and actually filming a great blue heron swallowing down an entire snake (Like slurping spaghetti!). The snake was a good six feet long, and by the time it was all taken in, the poor heron could hardly move. Talk about eyes being bigger than your stomach!
Looking fwd to yr pix from yr long walks this winter!! So glad I found yr blog. I spent 30 yrs in FL; now in OH 10 yrs. From VA. Was in the St. Pete area, on the beach. I did outdoor photog, too, for pleasure… some of the same haunts… getting much pleasure from yr photog now!
Being able to sees sights like this makes getting up and about worth while.
Wow! That is a hornet’s nest. You don’t want to be too close to that. Great shots, love your work and adventures.
