Sunset on the bridge

In late August I went for a walk on the pedestrian bridge across Tampa bay. At 7pm it was still sunny and hot.

In late September, the sun was going down at 7pm. It was still hot though.

It was a fairly quiet walk. Usually the bridge is packed at sunset.

A lone pelican flies by when the sun had gone down.

Pano taken with my phone. The view across the bay.

Walking across Tampa bay

A common loon swimming under the bridge. Loons are usually only here in the winter so this guy is either really early or really lost.

The usual pelicans hanging around the bridge.

Royal terns were also there.

Far off in the distance we could see dolphins. It looked like they were playing but I think they were herding the fish close to the causeway to feed off of them.

On the other side of the bridge, you could see planes taking off from the Tampa airport.

The sun was going down on my Sunday night walk over the Courtney Campbell Causeway pedestrian bridge.

I took a walk on the walking bridge across Tampa Bay recently on a Sunday night. I was traveling light and only took my phone so all of these are phone shots.

Occasionally you see some critters swimming by. I think this is a cow nose sting ray. They are pretty common in the bay.

A storm was moving into downtown Tampa but behind me the sun was still out.

A brief glimpse of the sun before the clouds moved in.

Then it got bad so I snapped the above and headed back to my car right before it started pouring. This was pretty far away and the picture is cropped up. I would not want to be out on that bridge if the lightning was any closer.
