Coming in for a landing

One of the last shows of the year by the Tampa Bay Water Ski Team earlier this month. It looks like they were having a lot of fun. This time I was trying to capture their faces as they dropped the ropes and skied into the side of the lake. This is a free show every Saturday until the dead of winter (meaning December through March here) and today I’ll be attending their Holiday show with family.

Another edition of “Christmas, Florida style”.

Patiently waiting for the show to start.

Santa opens the show.  (Shhh, that’s my cousin).

Scenes from this year’s Tampa Bay Water Ski Team’s Thanksgiving weekend show.

It’s a fun festive way to start the holiday season. It’s hard to get in the mood when it’s 80 degrees out side but this is a fun way to do it,  It was actually a bit cool this afternoon. Just over 70 degrees as the sun was starting to go down.  I know these guys were cold after getting wet but they were troopers.

My cousin and his family have been a part of the Tampa Bay Water Ski team for as long as I can remember. They put on a free ski show every Saturday in the summer. They also do a great Christmas show on the weekend after Thanksgiving. I had not been in a few years so I headed out and got there early to get a good spot to take pictures. There was a big crowd but everyone had a good seat. The show really puts you in the mood for the holidays.  While it was warm outside and most people were in shorts and tshirts, the water was a little chilly so those guys were cold out there on the lake.

P.S. That’s my cousin in the Santa suit.
