Lots of birds flying by, an osprey adding to a nest and a night heron.
A great blue heron standing on a nest doing a mating dance (flirting).
The nest closest to the trail had a parent waiting for the eggs to hatch (since this visit in early February a baby has hatched. Pictures to come later.)
It that a “I’m choking” signal or just a big yawn?
Hawk hanging out.
A Carolina wren singing the blues.
Lots of glossy ibis.
This is the year of the turtles at this park.
And alligators too. They are getting a lot of press right now. Who knew there were alligators in central Florida???!!

A young stork that looks like an old soul.
Besides the swans, both geese and ducks were nesting all around the lake.
Things were still getting frisky so more babies to come.
A wood duck couple were sleeping on the cypress tree roots on the edge of the lake.
This one looks like a hybrid mallard. Very pretty colors.
An ibis was stealing the swan food.
Looks like this stork was working on a nest.
The turtles were out sunning themselves.
A kapok tree flower.
Sandhill cranes flying high overhead.
There are lots more stuff at Lake Morton than just swans. Lots of ducks, geese, ibis, turtles and birds hanging around.
Nesting is in full swing for the osprey in the area. I don’t think they have eggs yet since they both left the nest at the same time for a while.
It looks like they were working on getting it comfy.
One of them kept bringing in more insulation.
Night herons always sleep along the boardwalk at this park.
Funny face. An anhinga staring at me.
Northern shovelers were close to the bank.
Another funny face.
The usual palm warbler. The trail was full of them.
A few robins were hanging around.
Is that parrot waving at me?
