Baby hawks on a busy trail.

Tiny baby red shoulder hawks high up in the tree were getting fed something yummy. I don’t know how old they were at this point but big enough for us to see them peeking out of the nest. They didn’t seem too concerned with all of the people walking by below on the trail.

After the little ones were fed, the parent came back with their own meal. I’m thinking it was a moorhen based on those big yellow feet.

The oldest one sat up on the nest looking around. Seemed curious.

Another red shoulder hawk was sitting on the big tree on Heron Hideout trail.

There are usually several hawk nests along the trails but this one was the most visible. Right off the main busy intersection of trails, it was not hard to miss those screaming babies waiting to be fed early in the morning.
