May your days be merry and bright!

Pictures from our walk around the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo. These are only a tiny few of the million lights from the Holiday Lights in the Gardens Festival. While my sisters were here over Thanksgiving weekend we stopped by on Saturday night. The gardens were packed but we still had fun walking through the lights.

And in the words of Irving Berlin –

“I’m dreaming of a white christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know
May your days be merry and bright,
And may all your christmases be white”

Mine will be white if the weather holds up, I’ll be on a sandy white beach relaxing.

“I’m Christmasing with you…”

The above lyrics were written by Richard Carpenter, sung by his sister Karen. This was one of my mom’s favorite Christmas songs.

On a cold night last week (around 60 degrees!) I headed out to the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo to see the holiday light show there. The gardens were full of lights and this is just a small sampling. They have carolers¬†singing and a Mr. and Mrs. Klaus there as well. I only stayed about an hour but people were pouring in to the gardens when I left. That’s one of the best things about Christmas in central Florida, you can be outside at night without bundling up. Only a light jacket required.

I want to wish all my fellow bloggers a great holiday and thank everyone for stopping by all year. I hope it’s been entertaining and I’m still looking out for new birds.
