Black bellied whistling duck traffic jam in the air.
Sleepy ducks in the morning.
Fighting black bellied whistling ducks? This is becoming a regular sight.
“Come back here, you.”
Sumo wrestling “duck” style.
The other ducks looked concerned.
Is he trying to drown the other duck (which is under water at this point)?
They stopped fighting when other ducks flew in.
I headed out to Circle B Bar Reserve for some Saturday morning “duck” wrestling. Live and in-person action. The reserve is full of black bellied whistling ducks. They blanket the marshes and trails. The sound of whistling is non-stop all morning. I think this is the biggest migration of these ducks the reserve has seen. It’s almost like the few that live here all year round are multiplying like rabbits, then when the winter ones arrive it fills up the reserve. I can’t help but stop and take yet more pictures of them.
