Roosevelt Wetlands – Skywatch Friday

I can’t tell what this is. I snapped this picture really quick and then it flew off. It would have been nice to have some side pictures. It was cute sitting there on the branch.

Great egret fly-by.

Male anhinga keeping an eye on me.

It looks like he has highlights in his feathers.

Loggerhead shrike yelling. I always see a few around this area.

Osprey watching a plane go by from his nest.

There’s a small lake close by work that sits next to the big solid waste plant. One half of the lake has houses on it so it’s really only half the lake to walk around.  Waste plants attract good birds. It was quiet the day I went but I did find the usual loggerhead shrike. I’ve seen one everytime I’ve been to the lake. It’s that time of the year where it’s hard to find unusual birds.  This was only a quick stop before I headed to another park. More on that later.
