Fun things at Lowry Park Zoo

There were a few baby blue herons still left at the rookery over the alligator exhibit when I visited the zoo in early June.

Baby blue heron venturing out into the world. He found something interesting. I think it’s his reflection in the water?

This white pigeon fly up and landed on a roof. It’s a wild pigeon. I’ve never seen one of these before.

This is a helmeted guinea fowl. He’s a resident at the zoo but wanders around the African section. Pretty funny looking bird.

These are masked lapwing in the Asian aviary. They look funny with those hoods on. The colors are striking with the yellow mask and the bright pink legs.

Hibiscus were everywhere.

The amazing mandrill face.

  3. I love the first baby blue heron. What a darling. I want to hug him, but I don’t think it would be a good idea.
