More big white and pink flying things.

Another Saturday, another beautiful morning with a pond full of pink and white birds.

Young spoonbill looking at me.

These guys were too busy feeding to give me a passing glance. Although, I’m sure they kept one eye on me to make sure I wouldn’t go wading in that alligator infested pond.

Wood storks and spoonbills all hanging out together.

That spoony in the middle was like “Hey, check me out.”

Yes, more pictures of pink and white birds. Two Saturday visits in a row both held a pond full of birds. The fishing must be good there. The birds were feeding close to the trail all morning. It’s funny to see the contrast of the beautiful pristine pink spoonbills up against the funny looking wood storks. Even with the recent rain, the water levels keep going down in the bigger ponds at Circle B Bar Reserve. At some point you would think they would run out of fish.

  1. The spoonbills are fascinating, Dina, not to mention very well named!
