After hearing wild parrots continuously go screaming by, I saw one land on the ground close to me.
I slowly walked over a little closer and noticed he has some grass in his foot.
Yes, he was eating grass. Interesting!
Later, as I was walking around, I saw a couple getting frisky on the utility wire.
What is that? Right next to the frisky parrot couple was an eastern meadowlark. My 2nd sighting of one.
Along the back side of Brian Piccolo Park there are miles of utility poles. To the right of the poles was a tree line. Behind the tree line is a small lake. I guess that’s why there are so many birds at this sports park. While sitting there watching the cute burrowing owls, there were so many other birds whizzing by. The monk parakeets were building big nests in some of the poles. Flocks of great egrets were flying by. I could have spent all day there but I had to visit the relatives that we had come to Fort Lauderdale to see. That morning went by fast.

Wonderful sightings.
the parakeets are really cute.
Wonderful birds to see… your images are amazing.
Really gorgeous shots of the birds. I’ve never seen either and both are beautiful.
The parrots are gorgeous! Brilliant green color! I love your lark photo, Dina! Fantastic!
I love the one of the lovebirds getting all lovey-dovey. (Okay, maybe they aren’t technically lovebirds but they fit the description!)

I know the parrots just from the zoo, what beautiful birds! And this meadowlark is my first, also a beauty. Thanks for sharing!
Quaker parrots! I used to have one. Lovely shots.
